Atlanta Beltline Academy

Engaging the Next Generation

Atlanta Beltline Academy is focused on giving the next generation the tools they need to feel empowered and to have ownership of the Beltline project.

About Atlanta Beltline Academy

Atlanta Beltline Academy is a pathway for young minds to explore, learn, and actively participate in shaping the future of their City. As an extension of Atlanta Beltline, Inc.'s Department of Planning, Engagement, and Art, the Academy introduces students to the Beltline project's ambitious vision and transformative impact.

Designed specifically for students attending an Atlanta Public School or residing within city limits, the program offers a unique opportunity to connect with one of the city’s most exciting urban developments.

Through interactive learning and real-world applications, students gain a deeper understanding of how the Beltline is working within the communities of Atlanta.

Program Goals

With Atlanta Beltline Academy, we hope to:

  • Educate and engage the Atlanta youth on the vision, history, project components, and implementation of the Atlanta Beltline.

  • Create collaborative partnerships for program growth.

  • Provide the opportunity for high school students to receive professional experience while helping to bring the Beltline to life.

Getting the Youth Perspective

There are over 20 K-12 schools around the Beltline. As we work toward completion of the loop, young residents like Kennedi are encouraged to get involved and give their ideas on how we can enhance the lives of this important population that will utilize the trail for years to come.
